As part of the upgrading of the Historic Thomas Dixon Centre (Queensland Ballet School) Ascent Building Solutions in partnership with a large Brisbane based asbestos removal company were contracted to remove the existing asbestos roof sheeting, as well as the old shingle roof which remained in place when the building had the asbestos roof sheeting installed over the top of it.

Ascent Building Solutions upgraded the tie down of the building and installed new metal roof battens to accommodate the new Colorbond® Corrugated roof sheeting. All of the gutters were replaced with new Quad 175mm guttering. In keeping with the heritage of the building Ascent had to manufacture new Colorbond® roof vents to match the previous. This project was contracted over several weeks as the work could only be performed on weekends due to the Ballet facility still be used throughout the week.
